Join us Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in a Craft Room at the Shelton Community Center, 41 Church Street in Shelton.
Members will be participating in an activity replicating early gatherings of the Shelton Reading Circle. In the 1900s, founding members selected a book and met weekly taking turns reading that book out loud. At our September meeting, members will select a myth at random from the book , Death by Petticoat, discuss it, refute it, and then read the explanation. While the title sounds ominous, there is a fair amount of humor displayed through the reading. You will never experience the past quite the same way, again! As this book is not available through interlibrary loan, no reading is necessary prior the meeting.
To access the building at the Shelton Community Center (41 Church Street, Shelton), park in the rear parking lot and enter by the main door. Proceed through the second door to the main lobby. Follow signs to the elevator and exit on the 2nd floor. Craft rooms are behind the elevator in the hall on the right.
